2) Branding considerations

When we start a website design project this might have the most impact on the overall feel of the website. Is it hard and edgy? Maybe something warm in earth tones and a simple layout. Whatever your brand is now is the time to incorporate it into your website build. Big bold fonts or a playful look and feel to your site can make all the difference. 

Choosing the button colors, what color the fonts will be, and how the photos and logo are placed is a standard process at this stage but a very important step. 

3) How engaging is your website

It takes less than two-tenths of a second for an online visitor to form a first opinion of your website and you want to make sure that when they land on your website it keeps them there and is engaging. CTA’s are on buttons and in the text that lets a user know that clicking on that will cause action and you have to get them to take that suggested action. If you have a lot of CTA then it’s a good idea to test different terms and phrases so you can get the most conversion and ROI. 

Some examples of good CTA’s are “Take Me There!”, “I WANT TO WIN!”, “Learn More”, “Work With Us”, and “Meet The Team”. You can get creative just remember to test, test, and then test some more to find the best Call To Action on your website. 

6) Social Media Integration

Social Media is a staple in today’s online world and your website needs to make it easy for your visitors to interact with you on their social media channel of choice. Adding a social share widget on the side of the page, or just adding a button so someone can visit your social media page are easy ways to help your customer engage with your content. By utilizing tools like IFTTT (If this then that) you can easily keep your social media channels updated on your webpage content. When you post to your blog IFTTT will automatically post that article to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram any channel you want it to get posted to and it happens automatically.

7) Search Engine Optimization

Last but not least Search Engine Optimization or SEO for short. When thinking about how to optimize your website make sure the basics are covered like filling in the meta title and meta descriptions, filling in alt tags for photos, page load times, linking structure, and well researched key phrases. 

Getting to the first page of Search Engine Results (SERP) won’t happen overnight, but you can get there if you are consistent with your content creation, and guest blogging strategy. Keyword research is very important when planning an SEO content marketing strategy. There are a lot of free tools online you can find to help with keyword planning. If done properly you can get on the first page of the SERP’S and rake in the rewards of a great SEO strategy.
