This SEO case study features ECH-Electrical’s city page

MarkhamElectricians.com, an electrical services page targeted towards Markham, Ontario, Canada, which has a population of over 353,000. ECH-Electrical helps residential, commercial, and industrial customers reach local electricians across Ontario and select cities across Canada.

We ranked organically in 4 months on the first page of google for three search terms, including Markham electrician, electrician Markham, electrician in Markham. The following is how we did it.

Markham was the first city we targeted in the Greater Toronto Area, starting in June 2021. ECH Electrical wanted an easy-to-navigate, lead-generating, Local SEO Optimized website that matched its brand. To top it all off, they wanted to rank on the first page of Google for the keyword Markham Electricians and variations of those keywords in six months.

We got to work with in-depth research on competitors of Markham electricians, what keywords they were using, and what websites gave backlinks to them. We used various tools in the SEMRUSH tool kit, including keyword gap analysis and backlink gap analysis, to analyze the competition.

Next, we started with on-page SEO by writing unique titles and descriptions for every page. Utilizing targeted keywords, we discovered using the Keyword Magic Tool in SEMRUSH. This tool helped us find the keywords with the most significant search volume per month and the difficulty level to show up for that search term.

We also structured the content with the proper H-tag hierarchy, wrote and published a keyword-optimized blog article of 1000+ words of helpful content per month.

Part of the plan was to also build backlinks to the main page and the blog articles. We found places where we could submit guest blog posts with various Anchor Texts with the links, pointed back to the main page and blog posts.

In the first three months, search engine results slowly started climbing, and into the third month is was showing up on page two of Google. By month four, there were a total of 12 keywords showing up in Google searches, with three targeted keywords on the first page.

According to ahrefs.com, only 5.7% of all studied pages ranked in the Top10 search results for at least one keyword within one year.

We surpassed our six-month goals in four months. The results are still climbing where we expect to increase our first page results to ten keywords ranking on the first page within a year.
